Just as the museum being an institution of culture has a back room busy preparing for an exhibition, The restaurant has its cultural workshop as well, the kitchen. The chefs of loreto are among the many citizens and professionals of this great town. They present local and international cuisines to their people and visitors alike. These images provide a small window into their world; allowing the viewer to capture a brief moment of these great masters in their culinary domain. By photographing these talented and often unseen artisans with a 4x5 field camera, we begin to see a raw and detailed depiction of these chefs as not only the professionals that prepare our food, but the people behind your favorite dish.

Sea

Inspired by the forms and fluid movement of the ocean, Joanna Oster's exhibition "Sea" is an accessible sculptural interpretation of the thriving and teeming life that dwells beneath the surface of these waters. In her installation, Oster utilizes vibrant, fiery colors and hints of metallic gold as a means to disrupt the calming visual motion with bright and striking hues. Oster's use of spacial definition along with her choice of color provide a mysterious element that is so apparent in our vast oceans. While both pieces included in the exhibition carry substantial visual weight, several instances of transparency remind the viewer of their lightness and fragility.

In this small, yet exquisite installation, Susan Leonhard presents four original works of art with one common theme. Growing up in rural surroundings, Susan has always had a love of nature, rolling hills and open spaces, which are reflected in many of her paintings. 'It is rewarding to capture and share the feelings and inspiration I get from beautiful scenery and to create paintings and murals.'
